Remove New FPS Counter
Just making this post to add my vote to not allowing this new fps counter to continue living. The old one was perfect. This new one is was too large and distracting. I prefer it to be just noticeable enough to see when you want to see it. please don't make this into the stable program. If anything, allow us to customize it enough to look like the current version.

I'll be reverting back to stable and hoping this new counter will ever use the pixels on my monitor ever again.

Man, way to make it obnoxious. Previously it was very discrete. Now it always catches the eye.

i also liked the old one more. with this new accessibility update, they probably wanted to make it more visible by default. there should be an option or two to configure it beyond the high contrast color

I agree. Give us options, the new FPS counter is distracting & annoying.

turn it off in steam client settings, if its annoying/distracting?

steam/settings/in-game (scroll down to "overlay performance monitor" and manage everything for it).

it has a whole pc performance metrics now and the slightly over sized fps counter has been fixed quite awhile ago, in the beta branch.

not sure if any of this has been pushed to public/stable branch? (i only use beta)

im a touch confused, you know since the last couple of updates you can select scaling size and set just fps like before?

im liking the full stats option along top of my 3440x1440 display very unobtrusive if you scale it down. ive set mine as white so you hardly notice it unless you look at it in most games.

@Mando, How do you set the FPS counter to white? I did not see that option in the Steam settings. My FPS counter is green with a black background. Do you have to change it for specific games every time you play them? Thanks for your help.

i expect they are talking about the contrast, which doesnt turn it white, its simply fading the green away.

i suggested a color setting in the link i posted, on comment #5.
