For the past few weeks I've enjoyed using the Steam Game Recording beta, specially when playing with friends. Last night I recorded a 3 hour session of HD2 but when I got back to the recording, I realised there is a whole hour missing at the start of the video.

The video and the file indicate that the recording is 3 hours and 4 minutes long, but the video only starts at the 1 hour 4 minutes mark. Any thing before that just displays the message "No recording available. Video frames may have been unavailable, recording may have been turned off, or content may have been removed from the buffer."

I know that automatic recording indicates that "the last 120 minutes of video will be kept for you to replay or save as clips", but I am using the Record on demand option and that doesn't indicate any caps on video recording. If there is a general cap in all recording, perhaps this should be made more clear in the options, or maybe a time/ disc size option can be added to the options. Another possibility could be to have an option where Steam ends a recording after 120 minutes and starts a new one after that.
