i use my steam deck as a controller for my laptop. notably, i'm using the steam link app downloaded from flathub, which has options to turn off video and audio streaming; i'm right there AT the computer, so i don't need the video and audio streaming.

but even with no actual streaming activity (the only traffic is controller input and the usual low bandwidth protocol bits), game recording is completely disabled while remote play is active. this seems really strange to me.

even if i WAS using the video/audio streaming functionality, i'm pretty sure my laptop could handle all of that at once, seeing as how i was able to do that with obs doing recording at the same time as i was streaming things remotely, on a MUCH lower spec computer than i'm currently using.

this limitation seems really arbitrary and unnecessary.
