Background recording not working while using remote play

Please allow us, or add a setting to allow us to background record while playing remotely with steam link.
I'm using steam link for VR games but it's not recording the games (it's recording if using wireless virtual desktop, so I see no reason to not record with steam link).
Even for non-VR games, allow us to record the games from the source computer while remote playing.

tl;dr: Source computer have background recording enabled, but doesn't record when playing on it remotely over steam link, please enable us to.

I have been wondering exactly this, as I have noticed the same thing.
Interestingly, when I start a flatscreen game over Steam Link, I see the red recording icon in the top right of BigScreen before the game starts, but there is no recording after I'm finished playing.

Edit: I'm using Steam Link Client on my Sony Bravia (Android TV) and want the host PC to record the gameplay. I could setup OBS to do this, but I am trying to use Steam Background Recording for the task.

Without an option to have it run while streaming, the game recording feature is nearly useless to me because I use remote play almost every time I play a game. It would be super nice to be able to stream and record and the same time, even if it came with caveats.
