i probably used it once or twice, and cant remember how poorly it ran. it probably was as bad as their video player, which was the main reason (imo) that lead their early attempt to also provide streaming and selling videos to fail. they rushed that feature, and never worked really well. the ui look acceptable, but never ran properly.
a similar issue is true for the original steam controller configuration menu: imo, it was easier to navigate and better documented than the most recent version implemented for the steam deck, but it was slow and didnt worked very well. the new menu to edit the controller runs fast, but imo is oversimplified and many options became lost and need to be re-implemented.
so what im saying, is maybe what they need to do first is to start calling users to make suggestions about what they expect from each of those features (the video+music player, the steam controller menu, the library interface, etc). maybe even making a contest, so people can share ideas and vote.
and, relative to that, they should also improve the "social network" aspects to be actually useful and community driven, and make forum moderators vulnerable to criticism, rather than givin them total power to ban and censor opinions when they dislike them. ie, moderation as something meritocratic, by users that do accurate policing, like newgroundsDOTcom does it (which also has a meritocratic system for voting artistic contributions to the site, like music and 2d art).
