Suggestions for new server and tweaks
Hi all I thought that I would start a discussion lines suggestions for alterations on the new server I am not meaning to intrude on current system, to offend anyone or to disrupt anything so much so please feel free to say these ideas are stupid. and also feel free to add your own if you have any.

Base blueprints
To allow people to create good looking bases I would like to suggest that base blueprints are either allowed or are made by the freelancers and can be spawned in in any location of the buyer's choosing as long as it is placed at a distance greater than 2km from a signifciant enemy base. - i.e. a tiny base with one turret doesn't count

CV turrets
I know this one is going to be contraversial but please here me out.
As we all know the current system for the number of turrets permitted on a CV is twice that of the size class, with the size class being determined by the the number of lights, devises and triangles - the exact formula is
DeviceFactor = #Devices * 0.01
LightsFactor = #Lights * 0.05
TriFactor = #Tris * 0.00027
However this motivates people to use vastly more triangular blocks, devises and lights than they otherwise would to artificially increase the size class - drastically increasing the amount of lag their builds generate.
therefore I would like to suggest that an alternative metric is used to determine the number of turrets that can be placed such as the mass or block number (Both of which are given 'General' section of the 'statistics' page in the P menu) as both of these are far harder to artificially inflate - resulting in the turrets being more dependant on the design and a less laggy game

Motivation for CV - CV combat

On the current server CV-CV combat is exceedingly rare so it would be cool if there was some motivation for it, there are two options I see for this:
1 - Evey time a trade occurs then the other PVP team(s) must be notified 10 mins before the trade occurs, this is because it is difficult to know when the other PVP team is doning a trade, and near impossible to intercept them with the current system
2 - an admin would spawn in a structure containing a large amount of gold every (unsure of period please suggest) at a per-known time and location which the two PVP teams can fight for control of


Base weapons limits
I am not sure what form these limits would take but I would like to suggest that there are some limits to the weapons that can be placed on bases as the current system allows for an unlimited number of turrets - which not only generates a vast amount of lag but has also forced teams to design vesels such as 'the anvil' which have the sole purpose of absorbing damage to allow their supporting units to take down the base. As with the CV weapons limits I would suggest that this is based off of the mass of the base rather than it's size class for the same reasons I outlined for CV's.
I recognise that there would need to be some system to prevent people using the current type of large sacrificially damage absorbing vessels to easily take down these bases and I would welcome suggestions on how this could be done.


Astoroids
I think that this has already been proposed but I would like to through my support behind it:
remove all or almost all non resorse containing asteroids from all systems - I know that some people may object to this because the astoroids look nice or are good spots for SV battles, however I would argue that this is in no way worth the doubling of frame rate that removing the asteroids would cause, for anyone doubting this please go into orbit above prime and find an area where there are no asteroids in veiw - you will find the frame rate is 50+fps - now go to an area where a large number of asteroids are in veiw - you will find the frame rate is ~25fps

Secret bases
Another contraversial suggestion:
I am not suggesting outlawing secret bases, however I am suggesting that a restriction is placed on them. This restriction would be a maximum distance that anything can be built from a planet - I would suggeest that this is 10Km. The reason for this suggestion is because it is currently very easy to build a base a considerable distance from a planet - making it practically impossible to find. Therefore this restriction would still allow for secret bases but would also give the opposing faction a reasonable chance to find them

As per Spanj's suggestion as the motivation for these bases is mainly to have resorces with which to recover if the faction is anialated, if this came into effect then the PVP factions should be able to buy a 'recovery package' from the freelancers, this would contain enough resorces for the faction to recover and could be loaned - the faction could pay back the gold once they had it

As wolf is talking about multiple systems it would be great if there was some sought of incentive for PVP teams to visit these systems - I am not sure what form this would take but I feel that it would improve the PVP experience
