You may not have the correct option on in your options.

Go to the main menu, click on options (not advanced options), then multiplayer tab, then you should see this...... "When a game server tries to download custom context to your computer"

You need to have the "Allow all custom files from server".

Normally, it should automatically download everything you should need without you having to do a thing.
