Uber Syringes Design and Discussion
Heya! While no one has commented on my stuff, I figure I should just keep putting my ideas out there until someone stumbles across them.

Anyhow, over at SPUF they were all discussing the idea of Uber Syringes, and how to balance them. They'd discussed them before, but all of them either promoted risky tactics or not healing at all.

Buuuut, they SPUF folks have generously thought up some new stuff I think would seem worth trying out. Give em' a look!

Stats for those who don't want to comb the page:
The Uberbow
Level 5 Crossbow
On enemy hit: +5% UberchargeOn enemy headshot: +15% Ubercharge
On ally hit: heal 20 health
-30% damage dealt
Player must have healed an ally within the last 10 seconds to gain Ubercharge with this weapon

I mean, I have! But all the stuff I've been posting so far haven't been solidified ideas, so I've been making discussion do people could, y'know, discuss the concept. I see what you mean, though!

I would change some thing

(+) +5% ubercharge on ennemy hit
(+) +15% ubercharge on ennemy kill
(+) allies heal grant +3% ubercharge (don't work if target is full health)
(-) no damage ramp up

Honestly I think the having-to-heal-to-gain-uber is a pretty important idea, but might need some tweaking.

Yeah, but this having-to-heal-to-gain-uber is impossible to make :/
so this weapon will never be created

I added this to the start of the new weapon sugguestion:

"Please don't expect your ideas to be used. But it is very well appreciated to summit your ideas."

I do love the ideas that are presented... it's hard to come up with new ideas by myself.

just go found a texture quickly could be a good idea to accelerate the processus of creation

Haha, that'd be lovely. Really though, we're not here to post weapon ideas! Just here to discuss and balance an idea that's been brought up before. I'm scouring the attributes list for something that could actually make something like this happen, though!

Check Weapon Suggestion FAQ for all list of the attribute available.

Mmmhm. Unfortunately, I can't find anything that'd work! Dunno if you'd want to grab a coder for this sort of thing. Blegh.

Anyway, you could probably work this into something else, like;
Damage healed gives you a damage output boost
+1% Ubercharge on hit
-15% Firing rate
-40% Base damage
-10% Weapon switch speed

This way, you could reward Medics for healing so you could inadvertently enforce the heal-to-be-able-to-gain-uber thing.

at this moment... only 1% ubercharge is useless, and the negative attribut make it less powerfull than the normal crossbow... better keep your first idea

Mason.S you can also go to the USA #1 serveurs, sometime crafting is here and answer question and speak about is futur weapon (he mentioned the uberCrossbow)

Haha, wait, really? Sweet! I'd love to hear what he said.

And I don't actually think it's too bad. The normal Syringe Gun fires 10 syringes per second, so if you were to lessen the firing rate you could (if your aim was good...) potentially gain 10% Uber per second, which is way higher than the Medigun's 2.5% per second. So, if you tweaked the firing rate, you have the potential for a nice Uber Syringe Gun.

Second, I never really elaborated on the Healing-To-Damage thing. Say you heal 500 damage, right? Take the damage you healed and multiply it by...howzabout 0.010? Take the healed damage, multiply it, and convert it to a damage boost. That'd give you a 5% Damage boost every 500 health you heal. That could potentially stack up to 50 times, which would end up with you having a 25% damage-boosted Syringe Gun for 12500 health healed. Promotes good Medic...ing! Yeah! I'd assume, at least.

...oh, crap, I don't think I elaborated on it this being a syringe gun and not a crossbow for my second suggestion! Noooo!
