Checking in - custom hero class status
Hye guys.

Just wanted to check in and see where people are with using the workshop. I know for me I still am not able to run my custom classes in dungeons when downloaded/subbed through the workshop. They can show up in game with the correct localization - but still crash to error when I try to access a dungeon with them in the party.

Has anyone gotten past this point when using a downloaded custom hero?

I tested all the class mods currently on the Workshop just recently.

- All three of your class mods, Blackguard, Apothecary & Lord, still have the same "SpineDataBinaryLoader 349" error from before:

Besides the bugged localization file on the Lord causing all the text to appear as strings and the tutorial version not working due to the mod system not using the "persist" starting save files correctly, everything else seems to be fine.

Actionjack's Assassin mod crashes Darkest Dungeon with 3 unique errors as soon as you try starting a game with his mod activated:

Assert Failed: ((unit32)character_count < size) BinaryReader::ReadString in utils/h/binary_reader.h line 179 buffer too small!
Assert Failed: (bone_index < m_BoneCount) SpineSkeletonBuildData::GetBoneData in graphics/h/spine_skeleton_build_data.h line 217 Bone index out of range
Assert Failed: (m_SlotNameArray == nullptr) SpineSkeletonBuildData::SetSlotCount in spine_skeleton_build_data.cpp line 80 Already allocated!

Though this might be because the mod was not uploaded correctly. There are some missing files when looking through the Workshop folder.

Muscarine's Offering mod is something everyone, both testers and developers, should look at because I'm not exactly sure what is wrong. It has the same localization string error as Scorpiovaden's Lord mod, but for whatever reason, I can't get the Offering class to appear in the stagecoach or into the game in any form. Besides the localization, everything appears to have uploaded correctly and nothing seems to be missing, misspelt or mis-rooted. I modded the stagecoach to have over 40 recruits a week and I went through a good hour and several hundread recruits and didn't get her once.

I'll do a bit more tests to see if I can find out what exactly, if I can, the issue is.

Edit: I saw on the page of the Offering Mod on the Nexus that people had the same problem, due to the "id_index". I tried values from 20 to "0" & "2", both were used with scorpio's mods that do work, and "33", the original value, but none of them work.

Not sure if this is related, but I constantly got this "Resource_Deref" error when going back to the campaign menu:

Thank you for this feedback, St. Michael's. At this point we will definitely need some dev feedback and support.

With regard to Lord - I simply did not do the correct upload with the loc files. Which I can easily fix.

At least I know it is not just me receiving these spinedata errors. At this point I do believe we will need further direction from devs on how to make our mods work with DD, once they are downloaded through the workshop.

Sooo i have literally no idea why it may give that error, it seems to say i included references to PNGs that are now missing ?
Is it the workshop version or the nexus version ? Because the workshop version is not up to date and is missing a line to enable stagecoach spawn atm, i'll update it.

I know mine test mod class have problem.
Mainly handling the effect (caus seem the current way would have issue install more than one mod)

So been putting it off till that issue been address (to make it more addtive)

However, all the other changes scare me.......

Well most of the issues for the class mods and the localization files should be fixed in the latest build. The uploader also no longer deletes files (unless you specifically tell it to).

Some people (Which is basically me and Scorpio) are still having that SpineDataBinaryLoader error. Besides that, there doesn't appear to be any other issues for Class Mods.

Custom classes as downloaded through the Wrokshop should now work no problem - with the new build put out today both my Apothecary and Blackguard work when downloaded through the workshop. Thanks Pierre for your hard work in testing :)

I tested ActionJack's Assassin & Vamp classes quickly. The Assassin works fine outside of the 2nd palette not rendering correctly. The Vamp class didn't seem to upload properly. It crashes at launch.

I am getting the crash with the Vamp too, but not sure why.

I will have a look and see how your vamp is different from Apoth. Does the effects file carry through ok?

I tested every Class mod on the workshop and nearly all of them work 100% fine and are compatable with each other with no apparent errors so far. The only one that isn't working is Muscarine's Offering mod, which seems to have the same crash error that the Vamp class had. It might be due to it not being updated to the latest build.

I ran a few tests with the most recent character classes with all the current released Workshop classes at once. All of them work fine except for Muscarine's Offering Mod, which does not appear in the stagecoach. I checked the modifies.txt with the Offering mod and it's missing pretty much everything. Scorpio had this problem too that I help him with and it might be caused by having the class already in the DarkestDungeon folder, which is probably confusing the uploader.

The classes themselves appear to work fine although I didn't test them fully. The debug does say that there are errors with the Lord missing an aflliction image (Which doesn't make sense since he appears to have it, unless this is a modifies.txt error) and the Court Magus not being assigned Camping skills.

I have started work again IRL, so I do not have nearly as much free time at the moment, but I'll still pitch in as much as I can.

Damn sorry that's my bad, i forgot i installed it recently to check for a possible bug.
