Anyone still around here?

I was thinking of starting a new collection to try to help build some communication and support between developers trying to get projects on Steam via Greenlight. The rules would be this: 1. You have to be a developer with a game posted to recommend a game be added to the collection. 2. You cannot recommend your own game.

I posted this in the main greenlight discussion, so if people are interested I'd suggest replying there :) More visibility than just this group.

I wouldn't say I'm enjoying the slow progress, but I probably mind it less than a lot of the more vocal discussion posters. It is nice to see that a couple people upvote my game every day, though it will be interesting to see if there any other big revisions to the system when they post their next batch of accepted games.

I did my game in Torque 2D. The actual Game Builder portion isn't too useful, but I like the scripting language. Not sure if people want to debate the merits of engines or not, but it might be a nice topic for discussion. They are reportedly in a massive overhaul of the engine, which it does sorely need. Though, they do give you the source code for the engine itself... which is the only reason it is really useable - since you can customize/fix things yourself.

Hey there. First time I noticed your game. I like the art-style and this type of game kind of makes me feel nostalgic for the "good-ol-days" when I used to play games like this way-back-when. :) Anyways, I've given you a thumbs-up. Hope your project gets lots of interest and does well.

Edit: Aha, finally fixed it! :)

I tried to do an animated .gif, but for some reason it came out corrupted when I tried to put it up on Steam (worked fine locally). Maybe I'm just doing it wrong, heh, I'm not really that knowledgable about the art side.

Well, there's also a certain reasonable limit for what you can do as a small team (or single person) production. A few people seem to expect everyone to be able to toss up the kind of quality art that triple AAA titles provide via a large group of dedicated artists. I think the main focus probably should be on gameplay... if it's fun, people will like it and eventually word will get out.
