Maybe I'll have to pull that back someday, still don't know how it all works but I felt a bit ashamed sitting myself on top because a lot of you guys are like 10x more gifted than me and all this is about now is sticking us all in a virtual room together and watching what happens...

I've been working on this game together with some friends. We've received positive feedback from various sources, so we thought it would be interesting to try Greenlight.

Yeah, seen you, like I commented, think you have a fun idea there, just make some more settings and try to calm down the colors. Just my 5cent as artist... but I think youre on a good way if you flesh out your idea and stay focused.

One thing I would like to start seeing is developers explaining why they are on Greenlight. If one explains why they decided to give Steam a try, people might just stop assuming things like "Oh, this developer wants a wider audience." or in mean-glish "This developer is in it for the money." I mean, there is nothing wrong with wanting a big audience, but why hide it? It seems like you actually will do a lot better if you just spill your motivations and intentions for all to see. Well, that is what I think at least, what are some other thoughts on this?

I found out that spilling your guts in the wrong moment can also get you into some trouble so caution can be advised (I just have the freedom to do so because I am a single developer... if I screw it up, its my own fault but I understand why publicity can be quite ruff) But in the end if you have true intentions about making a good solid game, you should not have anything to fear. Oh and I'm here because I like what valve are doing and have great respect for them allowing us freaks to fiddle around with all the buttons here damn, I think I grimed my feet on their couch, need to clean up my trash ... hehehe

Yeah I found that the animated Gifs have to have a certain standard to work, I got it to work after keeping the kbs down (round 70kb) and telling PS to dispose the frames (rightclick on the frame in the timeline-> dispose)... But would be nice to have a clear guide to what is the real standard, because mine was a luckshot too...

Some of us are wondering why their projects aren't making it as intended? Well time to suit up and ask yourself: Do I want to make good games or am I up to some shady buissnes? For the seccond category: you wont make it, you are wasting your time here!

For those who are serious about improvement: No worries: we'll get that fixed!

But I am tired seriously tired, I've been hanging aroud those boards for days now to stick you guys here together to talk... so do it and get others here to give it a shot, if it doesn't work for you, fair play!

ValvE is giving some of us a fresh chance to make it in the world of making (Indie) games better... YOU are what I was looking for... the rest of you, stay here and you can learn to make better games, games that matter and can survive and have a living community around them... ValvE is very generous in letting us board their space shuttle and all they want is for us to look good and behave good in exchange (not talking about the steam cut when you release to remind that this isnt a pure joy ride either so no need to hype em for it ;)

Just quick:
this whole thing is new to indies and vice verca, most of the customers here are used to very high standards, and steam just lowered the bar so serious indie developers can hop on if they wish to do so... we wont get every thing "as is" on steam and the bar wont be lower and that is a good thing, we have to work on our games to suit up, may take a bit of pimping just to make it solid.
