Not really shy - just careful. Sometimes voicing an opinion gets you downvotes. Downvoting was a bad idea that invites troll activity.

thats ok but what it comes down to in the end is if you know what you are doing.

and reading handooks helps, did you read valves?

Learning by doing, you learn by taking notice of a problem and then working on it, so I think you are on the best way to become a pro at whatever you want to allready by seeing the need of improvement - sounds simple but gets harder the older you get ;)
(edit) and sorry yes that is a very very common problem the soft skills we call them ...

I worked with new Indies... =D
They wanted me to do some art and I told them that their concept of the assets and format won't work and wasn't clear... my mistake: I did it anyway ... project failed (not Because of artwork issues but because there was no detailed nor rudementary tests done on the coding front either... so the whole (undefined) plan didn't work out... this happend three times to me, twice in two very big company too, so I think this might be a issue for others too...

Solved by: Communication and escalading projects that you fear something is going wrong... stop working on it, hunt down the source issue asap and work on that first, don't work in the dark too long! If you feel something is going wrong, talk about it, make sure that others are aware, if nothing changes and the issue remains stop working untill someone asks, if noone cares then work on something else!
