Alternate character portraits
I've been working on changing the portraits, as I'm not fond of Amano's style. Getting one for Terra and Relm was a snap (found good ones with transparent renders set up to go) and managed to modify one for Celes, but finding the other characters is proving difficult. Trying to find better pictures for Edgar and Sabin, but without much luck...

Anyway, if anyone has or knows of some nice pictures with solid backgrounds behind the faces (something I can remove) I'd appreciate the assist. Would be willing to work on a couple others may want to use, even if I don't like them.

Edit: More finished. Not completely happy with the base pictures for all of them, but best I could find as of now, especially in order to keep them all looking kinda similar.

I know there was a FF6 SNES hack a few years ago that had all the portraits in the game changed, over on http://www.ff6hacking.com/ ; I don't know the sharing details or anything like that, though. Pretty good site for FF6 graphics replacements, though ;)

Sorry for the delay!
Here's the patch with what I've got done. I changed the Edgar pic since posting this, but if you prefer the old one, let me know. I'm still not satisfied with either XD.

Hey there - just wondering how abouts one would change the portraits. I would like to do my own set - but I'm unsure how to open them or then replace them.

I do know how to change battle/world sprite for a character - did the simple way of re-using an existing sprite set and just renamed the zipped folder to replace one.

But have not figured out anything with portraits.

If you can point me in the right direction that would be great

Oh man. It's been awhile XD.

I honestly don't remember off the top of my head, other than that I used the FFVI Explore tool. See if this guide helps you out, as it looks familiar to me.

If not, there's a FF Moding group and a Discord that can surely set you right. Changing portraits is by far one of the easiest tasks, just need to find those first steps!
