Dollmaster, exactly like that. That is honestly one of my most sought after mods for Final Fantasy... graphics enhancements. Especially for Final Fantasy VII, Final Fantasy VIII, and (the upcoming) Final Fantasy IX. I just don't understand how SquareEnix "remasters" the game by upgrading your characters and a few NPCs, but they don't bother upgrading the rest of the NPCs or the backgrounds. If the modding community can do it (and from what I've seen with the Final Fantasy VIII mods at the qhimm forums, they CAN) then there is no reason that SquareEnix couldn't have done it before release, except that they are cheap and they wanted larger profits by not paying their staff to update the backgrounds.

Yeah, like that. The PS1 era games would look so good with a total background overhaul.

It's definitely possible via a method such as Tonberry[forums.qhimm.com]. I hope the team over at Qhimm add support for it.

I just can't understand what this 20gb thing is for. Mobile versions are just 4gb.

My guess is that they have uncompressed audio for all of the different languages being downloaded and installed with the game.
