Suggestion: Adding the six new weapons in somehow?
Hello everyone! So, I reading up on the FF Wiki, I found out that there are six new weapons exclusive to the PC port:

1. Lightning - Godslayer
2. Sazh - Death Penalties
3. Snow - Omnipotence
4. Vanille - Faerie Tail
5. Hope - Rising Sun
6. Fang - Longinus

But unfortunately, they're all dummied out. They can be hacked into the game, but obviously, that's not ideal.

Would it be possible to add these to one of the weapon shops after beating the game, similar to how it was able to add certain things to XIII-2 and Lightning Returns?

FF Wiki link on FFXIII: http://finalfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/Dummied_content#Final_Fantasy_XIII You can find out about the new weapons at the very bottom of FFXIII's entry.

Thanks for your time; have a nice day. :)

If you can figure out how to hack the shops then yes it should be doable be prepared for what would probably be a fair bit of testing to make sure they actually get added to the shop

Thanks for the info. I wasn't looking to do it myself--I don't own FFXIII on Steam and I don't ever plan on getting it since I own the PS3 version--but I thought maybe I'd suggest it if someone wanted to work with this game.

Ahh right no worries i've actually had it on all three formats myself :P PS3 first got up to the end of Oerba Village but couldn't beat Bartandalus no matter what i did then got it on 360 and used a program to give myself max CP and destroyed him XD and now finally on PC where i again destroyed him

Someone really should try this, and maybe see about altering the stats and maybe the passive abilities they yield.

I figured out how to get the dummy weapons in the game. You don't need to put them in the shop you can just "morph" a weapon to it via hex code editing. I tested it myself and they work in battle. Lightning's Godslayer at Level 1 is 100 Magic and 100 Strength. at Level Max it's 10,000 and 10,000. Here is a link for the stats! - If you would like to learn how to do get them in the game I can show you how, send me a PM

That's awesome! Thanks for letting us know, TheSauseMan. I was more thinking of adding them to a shop so they can be viable, attainable post-game content without hex editing every time. This is still a super awesome leap forward. Thank you!

Hey SauseMan any possibility you might be willing to teach me how to do it?

Sorry to answer later, but, could I contact you in PM about that?

There are multiple ways to make these obtainable. From my fiddling with the game files, I know treasure chests, mission rewards, shop inventories, enemy drops and special drops can be edited. As far as I know, however, weapon stats are not modifiable. Or they are written in obscure numbers, I haven't looked much into weapons. I'll start looking into the game files more come September.

Any updates on this?

Although the thread is old, if anyone is still interested, I've uploaded a mod to Nexusmods that allows you to create your own weapon, including stats, abilities, maximum level, etc. It overwrites the 6 unused weapons so each character can have their own unique custom designed weapon.

Oh nice that'll be interesting to play with what are the current limits?
MJB 10 Sep, 2019 @ 11:17am
The base starting strength/magic can be in the range of 0-5,000 with level increases selectable between 0-200 up to a maximum level of 126. This allows you to have a stat range of 0-30,000 for each. While these limits are arbitrary, I can't believe anyone would need more than that!
