The only thing that makes sense is that the MMP shifts memory regions just enough by adding additional data that the game freaks out when loading the poker game. Generally, the EU / US version should be identical (but I wouldn't put it past them for there to be difference) and this could be an EU exclusive issue then (Or more specifically even, german exclusive)

Funnily enough, disabling the mod, enabling it again after playing a while without it, you still own all the MMP custom monsters and so forth.

Also, the playstation button.bat looks for a file in mod/resident/gui and there is nothing in there, not even when I check the actual file folder structure on google drive via the download link. Obviously, the mod fails to install that way. Maybe just remove that .bat and the folder from the package to avoid confusion.
I'm definitely not dismissing your report, so don't worry. It's just we haven't been able to reproduce it ourselves yet, and no one else has reported it, so we're kinda.. stumped. We need something to go on ourselves in order to debug it, ya know?

As for it being a German exclusive.. that's within the realm of possibility. Are you playing with the German subtitles? Also yeah some of the actors included in MMP will remain in your party when you disable the mod, but they won't necessarily work correctly in all instances. It's funny how much information gets dumped into the savedata, yet just enough isn't to cause some things to break.. Ah well.
