I know you can raise stats in FF9 that way. But he's looking for a quick easy method like modding so grinding obviously isn't his thing. Hence why I mentioned editing stats directly.

Not sure if the editors only soft edit stats directly though as some games have 2 different values. One that will edit the true stat and it will be permanent. The other will do the same job but resets back to the original value if you equip something that changes your stats.

Most of these games have a save editor somewhere. The amount you can do with those editors varies though. If you are confident then you could try a memory editing program.

Unfortunately you cannot go back and do it, it has to be done exactly after certain events of the Memoria. If you google the steps you can see that its clearly after those specific events that you go back from Memoria to Lindblum only to talk to one of the brothers, then you go back to Memoria, go past one new scene and then go back to Lindblum and rince and repeat.

Its a very ardous task that is completely insanely impossible with a guide without knowing but once you do everything 100% you get Protect Ring but i would say its probably the only thing skippable in the game since its just funny dialog.

You can use cheats i think, also grinding Yan's is a relative quick way with Atomos and Freya's abilities combined with Night from Quina

And you can still get achievements etc, so its not a big change imo

Both mods i mentioned dont come with baggage i think personally.
I say try it out first and see if you like it.

You can always reverse, so much fun to lv1 playthrough the game while having insanely hard bosses, it makes you have to use incredible strategy to succeed and use the skills you usually never use. Thats a big part why i like AF for example.

Good ideas. Having the blackjack in game could be fun and the battle UI should be fixed i agree.
However there are multiple difficuly mods out there like Unleashed and Alternate Fantasy.
Both really test your skills and are a lot of fun.
