Double check that you've applied the Player layer to the player. Without that the enemy would definitely not be able to detect the player.

Also make sure that the layer the enemy is detecting is the Player layer.

I'm stuck with your videos and am wondering if you have missed one out?

4mins 51 seconds in to video [56] Item Master you say: "There were those 2 test items I had"
I don't have those items, which video did you introduce those?

Also My inventory just says "Button" it doesn't have the items in it
Also in video [45] Intro To Chapter 3 there is a Player_Inventory Script I don't have one of those.

Now I'm getting errors and am unable to continue:

the script is on the player and the Player has a tag of "Player"
I am wondering if the script GameManager_References.cs was changed in the missing video (if there is a missing video)

Most likely you've missed video 54 because that is essential to having an inventory and that's where I put in two test blocks as items.

Ok I think I've figured out a suitable balance! I will release S3 in early access as soon as possible when I've finished this Enemy chapter 5. After the eight orignial chapters are completed Steam users will get a new exclusive chapter 9 which will have a couple of videos showing a typical FPS melee weapon system. What do you guys think of that?

My last thought is to go with a full release around the end of Feb / early March. My progress has been alright so far and I have another four chapters to complete.

Sorry I didn't see your post until now. Those are good points. It's quite easy to add those sorts of mechanics (new scripts that make use of the events), and things like food are trivial to implement because of the item system you'll develop in chapter 4. It's probably a bit too late because I've already branded it as an FPS tutorials series, but maybe I can write somewhere that it's a flexible FPS system that can be expanded upon to make all types of FPS games including survival.

Health Regen over time when you have food in your stomach.
And the opposite (loosing health over time) because of Bleeding.

These are core gameplay mechanics for the survival genre which could increase your viewers / customers because there are tons of FPS tutorials and not so many Survival tutorials on Youtube.

I guess it could be an optional bolt set of scripts that just calls the Increase and Decrease Health Events.

Sure I think so. It'll take time for people to go through the tutorials anyways, and meanwhile you can record new ones. You are active on the forums, so people will know new content will be coming. Is say you should go for it ;-)

Would 5 USD be ok?

Should I release S3 on steam even though all the chapters aren't complete? As I complete each chapter on YouTube I would then update the Steam package. I don't believe there's an early access category for "software" titles. Would just explaining on the Store page be sufficient to alert potential buyers that the package is still in development?

Please let me know if you think it's a good or bad idea. Thank you.
