Civ 5 Steam update for OS X broke GMR
10 days ago there was an update on Steam for the OS X version of Civ 5 with G&K and BNW. Now when I upload my save files to the web client I get an error saying "The file selected for submission was not a valid Civilization V save file." I tried to revert my Civ 5 steam version but failed so I am hoping the fix is easy on the GMR side or someone can tell me a fix.

Much appreciation for any help in advance.

Not sure of the exact details like seejaie appears to be but I can corroborate that after a fairly recent steam update I am no longer able to use my macbook air to make Civ V turns through GMR. When I've tried I get the same error on upload as seejaie. Fortunately, I have access to a Windows machine where I verified that I could make the turn and upload it without issue so this is strictly a OSX issue.

I have not heard of any good solution about this yet. Just a long workaround a player posted on Slack: "just FYI for other folks in similar situation; we have found that GMR will accept the files if they are first loaded on a windows machine and resaved. not ideal, but its something"

Dang! Thanks for bringing this up. Could someone please email an "invalid" save file created on the OS X game to support@multiplayerrobot.com and we'll see if we can get a fix put together?

Don't know if others sent an "invalid" save file, but I sent mine.

Also the location of saved games has changed from ~/Documents/Aspyr/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/Saves/hotseat to ~/Library/Application Support/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/Saves/hotseat/

Hey everyone, sorry for the delay on this. I've just pushed up a change that I believe will fix this issue.

Thanks Tazzik, I am letting the GMR Slack community know, hopefully some Mac users can confirm the fix :)

Confirmed - mostly.
I now can upload my save file from my Mac to the GMR website and it accepts it.
But, if the next person is using the GMR Windows Application it will complain about the downloaded file. I guess the work around is that next person has to use the GMR website.
