Near constant problems for the last week
I recently got a group of friends to start two different games using GMR and we haven't had much success so far. The website seems to be having a lot of issues and often is completely unresponsive. Turns get out of synch frequently and it just generally doesn't seem to work very well.

The application and interface is excellent, it seems to be just communication related issues with retrieving or sending files. Is this common or unusual? I haven't seen any notes or reports about issues in this group or on the webpage, but it affects us all so I don't think it's a local issue.

It definitely is not common. It's most likely one of your players having issues.
I have had some problems submitting turns through the client lately, but using the website works fine.
If you ever have a problem with the turn getting passed to a player, but the game saying it is someone elses turn, just try reverting the turn once or twice. A revert usually fixes most problems.

Ever since the downtime last year, the GMR website has been very slow/unresponsive. I can, usually, still create games and revert turns but sometimes it just wont play nice. Loading pages takes minutes, inviting players or reverting turns may or may not work at all. Some games will skip a player ingame for no apparent reason, but show the correct player's turn on GMR (happened twice this week). I really hope these issues will be resolved, or that the new platform is nearing completion! Can't wait for some Beyond Earth GMR action. :)
