I do not know what kind of changes you have been forced to make to the site, but I have been unable to access any of it for months now, so I must confess, I have given up trying.

Over the past couple of weeks, I've experienced problems on the New.MR.
Whenever I start it up in /Game - it times out.
If I click one of my games - it most of the times times out too.
I have not yet seen a patern as to which games work - and which time out, and whether this might be related to time of day -it might time out during busy hours- but I wanted to report this as I have heard no-one else complain about this.

Guys - what's going on on the MR server ? - I time out on all my MR games

This time the processing does not "lock" the game - fantastic !

but .. after I have replayed my turn - it still happens - so only thing left to do is reverting.

- when the game has gone into "processing"-mode, Revert does not work.

Could it be, it happens when the game page has timed out, and a gamefile is dropped upon it ?

I played my turn - dragged the savefile to my browser and released

The error-message was something along the lines of:

"An error has happened while reading the file"

This is all fine - an error has happened - no problem

but I have no tools to break off the "processing" -that the page says- is currently going on.

- my options are limited to skipping or reverting,
both options seem un-attractive and un-necessary to me.

How do you suggest I proceed ?


(have you ever done some temporal analisys of the load on the old server,
to see when the machines are working hardest ? To me it seems to be worst in the morning (GMT) and worst in the weekends. I expect the load will become the same on the new server - when we move over - so wouldn't these be interesting numbers to harvest before the move ?)

It seems the Game Page does not refresh after you dropped the save file into the last game on the list. I just kept the last game on the screen as if frozen. Hope you understand what I mean.

Yeah sounds right - every solution that will make us have access to downloading & uploading without having to call the DB with requests that are not relevant to the task at hand.

My immediate question would be - given you present a list of games - how would the Uploader know which game I am dragging to the site ? I hope you understand - my words are clumsy.

The list of games - under Accounts - does not show the Game progress (it does not show me, that it's my turn)

I found out because Pieter wrote to me. I entered the Game page - where it was shown - that it was my turn. (I then reloaded the Accounts page - and it still didn't show my turn)

I am writing it here - because I was not able to find the right place to write it in Trello.

What a brilliant idea.
I am a Mac user, but unfortunately - that's all I am - I haven't written one single line of serious code since 1997 when I started being tasked as PM.
I will however be on hand, if a thorough Mac-tester is ever needed.
Also - Let me know if there are other menial tasks I could help with :)
