update on not being able to join servers
After checking my console after I couldn't join a server, I saw the following:
Can't use cheat cvar fog_start in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
Can't use cheat cvar fog_end in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
Can't use cheat cvar fog_startskybox in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
Can't use cheat cvar fog_endskybox in multiplayer, unless the server has sv_cheats set to 1.
Can't use cheat cvar r_farz
so if anyone could help me on what to do, that would be great.

that has nothing to do with unable to join servers, that's TF2 executing commands

huh, I see. in that case, I'm not really sure what to do at this point, might just pass on the event if I can't figure out what to do by next week.

Enable downloads in settings > multiplayer or download asset pack

It's also worth noting that if for some reason the buttons aren't working but you can connect via console, you can get the ip from copying the link location and removing the steam://connect/ prefix.
