READ BEFORE CREATING A THREAD
This forum is ONLY for submissions to the Memes vs Machines contest. All other threads will be moved or deleted from this forum.

If you have any general questions about Memes vs Machines, please ask in the Contest Q&A thread in the General Discussions forum.

Read the following instructions carefully. Failure to obey these instructions may result in your thread being deleted.

To allow for easy and clear communication between participants and judges, we require that every mission have its own thread on this forum. This helps us keep all the information for an entry in a single place (e.g. judges reviews, player feedback, votes to pass/fail) and allows contest participants to directly interact with the judges within their entry's thread.

Rules
  1. One thread per mission. If you are submitting multiple missions to this contest, please create a new thread for each mission you are submitting.

  2. Include information such as the name of your mission, a list of all the contributors (including links to their steam profile pages). Please also mention the map the mission is for.

  3. Post link(s) to your files as a reply to your thread. If you update your mission, do not modify or delete your previous post. Create a new post with the link again (even if the link is the same as the previous post's). This helps to "segment/section off" the judges' reviews for each version you (re)submit.

  4. Use a sane file hosting site such as Dropbox or Google Drive to submit your files, or else we will not download them. If an entry has multiple files, please place all your files in a zip file. Do not use other formats such as 7z or rar, for our server only accepts zip files.

Click here[hydrogen-mvm.github.io] for rules on how to upload your files for this contest. (Map/Item submission rules, obviously, don't apply.)

Notes
  1. Do not assume that a judge voted to pass your entry unless they explicitly say that they voted to pass it. When in doubt, er on the side of assuming that you did not get their pass vote.

  2. Be sure to check the Source TV website[potato.tf] for any relevant demo and feedback files pertaining to your entry.

  3. While not required, changelogs (even if brief) of the major changes made to your entry for each revision are greatly appreciated.

  4. There is no "contest upload thread" for this contest. Your submission thread will serve as your upload thread.

Example Thread OPs

They need not look exactly like this, but they should provide the same amount and type of information. These should be the OP of your post - they should provide a brief overview of your submission, the name, what it is, and who made it, but not links to the submission itself.

Example Thread

Name: Qualeafied Treetmet
Entry type: Mission
Contributors: Nuke

Example Thread Posts

You post a link to your submission as a reply to your thread. Do not post a link in the thread OP.

The reason why we ask you to not post a link in the thread OP is because you may leave an outdated download link on the OP but post an updated link in the thread. The judges may accidentally grab the outdated version from the OP when they first open your thread and test that instead of testing your latest version. (This has happened many times before and is a waste of everyone's time, so let's try to avoid that!)

Sample download link posts: (This should be posted as a reply and not be included on the OP.)
