I agree that we've all been there and struggled at times with toxicity from ourselves or from other players. It's true that the more bitter and less kind you become the more people will be less likely to be your friend. Everyone enjoys kindness and everyone deserves kindness in return however we are not entitled to certain acts of kindness. Perhaps it's worth exploring what you want from friends and searching for those qualities in people if you feel used. If it's more people being verbally abusive perhaps it's worthwhile to find ways to unstress let it go and not carry those statements with you.
