Quick tutorial on joining: Click Multiplayer -> Click internet tab -> Enter IP in field -> Click add -> Click Refresh -> Click the Server Name -> Click Join

Whoever hosts a game will usually put the IP in the event info, also, the servers aren't online all the time.
