Virus and slow site
I've never really been into trading before, but today i had decided to join several trade sites to start trading up a little.
I opened tf2 outpost which gave me trouble with my steam sign in at first, but went (extremely slow but) fine after a few retries.I was watching youtube videos and i noticed that my outpost page suddenly had turned into a """"Microsoft"""" page with the "CONGRATS USER" voice message and pop up,i immedeatly clicked away and scanned the links and referal links (the url which contained tf2outpost,btw) and it was scanned as positive by one scanner for a trojan as well as having a file that downloaded (like every site does),with an EXTREMELY suspicious title of "Virusshare". I am currently scanning my computer with Superantispyware,AVG,malware bytes and after that windows in the hope that i have been protected by adblocker from the actual virus download, and i will cease from using this site unless i've got clarification on what is happening.

PS: I am always very careful to only use trusted and safe websites, but it seems this is not one of them anymore. Is my steam account even safe after i've logged in here?

If you're on windows there's an option to wipe and reinstall windows, I'd recommend that to get rid of the ad-ware.

Is it guaranteed that i have a virus after one of those TF2outpost pop ups then?

You dont have a virus unless something got downloaded to your computer. Go to your download history on your browser and see if you downloaded anything suspicious. If you downloaded something, DEFINITELY reinstall windows. After you do that I would recommend not to use Outpost without an adblocker or alternatively just use a different website as most adblockers cost money.

Worst part is: i DID use adblocker AND google's "block popup window" function, but it has ways to bypass both. The admins of this site also claim none of these ads have virusses because "only a few people report these ads to us", not realising that if they see the state of this site, most people just get out of it asap

Thanks for your assistance,i really apri ciate it

You're welcome, but reinstall your OS as it might have some virus now, and be VERY careful when using this site, or just use another one like backpack.tf to be 100% safe.

Hm,i scanned with malwarebytes,SUPERantiSpyware and AVG and they all couldn't find anything. Would reinstalling my OS not whipe all my data or games?

It would, I'm just saying to be 100% safe. Chances are, if you didn't run the file and it got deleted quickly nothing happened. But I wouldn't use outpost until they fix their ads, just be careful

Thanks a ton for your concern and advice
