Selling backpack after 6 years, advice?
Hi friends, my prolonged adolescents seems to be coming to an end and pseudo-adulthood is kicking in! I don't play much Team Fortress 2 anymore. I played the game for 6 years, the majority of that time was spent playing and running a community (aka. clan) around Team Fortress 2 and Counter-Strike servers, VOIP, and forums. I also formed and lead competitive TF2 teams the highlights of which include UGC Platinum 1st and 2nd place highlander championships.

I have two or three old sourceop selling threads that were successful and had more rep posted on them after each sale. The links to them no longer seem to work and my sourceop profile says I have no recent activity.

Through old and probably deleted threads like these I've sold my HOUWAR, a max set, and other various unusuals in the past

Backpack highlights:
Strange Festive Medi Gun (used this to win UGC championships, value could go up with "signature"), Strange Festive Minigun, Max's Severed Head, Gentle Manne's Service Medal #206, Vintage Lugarmorph, x2 Earbuds, Magnanimous Monarch (probably not possible to transact), tons of genuines and vintage hats and items.

I'm looking to sell everything in my backpack, ideally in one large transaction, for paypal money. I'm thinking I should advertise a minimum bid of $400 and let people offer more if they want to. What do you guys think? I've been out of the TF2 trading loop for quite a while. I do have some rep on my steam profile and evidence of successful sales in the past via sourceop forum threads. The longest I'd want to wait between my listing and the actual sale would be 1-2 weeks. I'd take what I can get and be done with it. The money is going into a savings account for my future wife's engagement ring. What price range should I advertise? Where should I post a listing?

Well, like you said, your backpack is worth around $400, so yes that would be a good b/o. I would look for people that are buying full backpacks for paypal on tf2op, and offer on their trades. Keep in mind that people want profit, so you might not be able to get $400 off of them, but this way is faster. If you want to have a higher chance of getting the 400, then create a trade on the site and wait.

Hope this helps

Thank you, that does help! I will try exactly that. I'm okay with selling at a bit under value if it means I get it sold.

When selling your backpack, you should only expect a portion of the entire backpack. Backpack buyers only buy full backpacks in hopes to resell and make a profit. They do all the work of sellin each item, that you didn't want to do, while you walk away with all the cash in one transaction. The way to get the most cash is to do all the work for yourself. Going to item buyers can speed that process up.

I would set my hopes up to ~250$ for a good quick amount of real money. If you're goin to list it for a trade perhaps aim for a 300$ b/o

Tip: Find a reputable buyer who has a history of many backpack and large transactions, taking a lower price might seem worth it for the security of knowing you won't be scammed.

You can list a trade on outpost, but I recommend goin to other community forums that have a trading section to list your backpack. It'll extend your range of possible buyers and bring attention to known backpack buyers. (e.g SOP, Backpack.tf , r/tf2trade, etc )

I personally know a very reputable backpack buyer, you can add me and I can direct you to him, don't want to publicly advertise for him & his group on these forums.
