Quickbuyers need to go.
Quickbuying is scamming. Its paying half the price of unusuals that people could get 20+ keys for. The market for them is going to go down, and soon others may as well. I think we should crack down on quickbuyers

There aren't prices in the game. Everyone can trade an item for whatever they want. If you don't like what they want to pay you, don't sell your items to them. Since they tell you what's their price, and you accept it, they aren't scammers. That's how economies work: buy cheap things and sell for more than you bought it for.

I personally buy low and sell lower than bp.tf prices for just about everything I buy, but I don't go around telling people, "Hey, you do know your item is worth less than that right? I'll buy it off you for (low price)." So I fail to see how they and myself are scammers, when people add us to sell their items willingly.

You really expect people to pay full price for everything available? Either settle for less or take longer to sell your item yourself. Quickbuyers aren't hounding you to buy your stuff for cheap. Unless they are of course...then...they're trying to shark I guess?

It's called the economy. Every business that wished to make a profit does this. By your logic, we need to get rid of places like Wal-Mart and McDonalds, because they "quickbuy" as well. They buy their products for extremely low prices and then resell them to the public for a profit.

Wanna know a fun way to not let the quickbuyers make profit off you? Don't fucking buy their shit.

You're looking at the issue too stubbornly guys, No, quickbuyers don't need to go. The way Outpost handles them does need to change.

You see, the right to free speech and all that bullshit allows these guys to sell their items for whatever they want. People that ARE quickselling, good on them. My problem is with people Searching for quicksellers. AKA Quickbuyers, these guys simply search for an item of said value, and cut the price off Them self, yep.. They attempt to set the price of a potential seller. Obnoxious enough aye. Anyway, they are free to do this, that's fine.

The issue is with Outposts method of handling said quickbuyers. They don't.

Quickbuyers/sellers need a seperate tag to identify them in the market, I'm sick of clicking 'Matches' to find someone looking to sell or buy an item that matches my trade prerequisites, and just getting countless pages of people looking for quicksells, nothing else.

It's annoying as hell, outpost needs a way of handling these guys so people can search trades without getting spammed with quickbuyers wanting to rob you of your profit, so they can obtain their cheap and unearned profit.

As for you using a terrible analogy of McDonalds and Walmart, that is a COMPLETELY difference scenario, they manufacture their products themselves for one. They also manufacture them at a very very low cost secondly, which gives them their profit.
The reselling of unusuals isn't manufacturing, you should look at the stockmarket for a better analogy, etc. The buying and selling of Shares and Assets.

In conclusion, essentially People are being spammed with trades they are not interested in, and it is the duty of tf2outpost to change their method of identification and handling of said trades to communicate better with their userbase and traders alike.

Yeah, i said it wrong. I just mean that it needs to be dealt with in a way other than ignoring

Walmart does not manufacture products, they buy in bulk from companies and resell for much more. Which makes them an acceptable real life analogy from Not_Duck

And people aren't being spammed with trades they aren't interested.
Trades that are "quickbuyers" are searched for by the users, users who are looking to sell their item.

The purpose of these "quickbuyers" are to provide quick pure, sellers who sell to them understand that they can sell to them at a discount and save time.

I find that most users who complain about them aren't trying to use them properly (Yes, I believe quickbuyers are just another tool a trader can use like scrapbankers, pricing guides, etc.) they are fed up with being unable to sell quickly at "market price" and are trying to find someone to pay "market price" but buyer trades don't normally pay "market price" which upsets them, as they do not fully understand that items don't have prices, pricing guides are only recommendations to traders about commonly seen item sales, and how to use these quickbuyers.

Quickbuyers are useful to many users and if they aren't useful to you they are easy to spot and avoid, one way is to complete stop looking for buyers and just post a selling trade.

You can't ask outpost to try and regulate, it won't work and is an attempt at excluding users to an off section of the website.

Quickbuyers maintain the price of items by buying items under the going rate before they are put up openly for sale (the best example of this is the Bill's Hat market where we would surely be at 5 keys already if it wasn't for quickbuyers with the ability to buy any and all for 5 keys). Quickbuyers allow those who do not wish to wait for a trade to obtain a reasonable portion of the item's full value in a short amount of time. If you do not wish to sell for less than going rate go make your own trade and bump it yourself. Nobody is forcing you to deal with quickbuyers.

You shouldn't be clicking matches to find buyers for your items. Anybody paying full price will just simply search for the first available seller and therefor doesn't ever need to open a trade.

Thanks Liddo.
On a side note, McDonalds doesn't produce the goods they sell. They purchase all of their food (vegetables, buns, chicken, beef etc.) from outside sources. Please make sure you do your research before you dismiss anyone's opinion/analogy.

That would be awesome, as the matches section for unusuals is just quickbuyers
kléni 26 Aug, 2014 @ 9:06am
And then no one would be able to quickbuy things.
Deacon Blues 26 Aug, 2014 @ 9:07am
No, there might be a separate tab for quicksales.
The Doodler 26 Aug, 2014 @ 6:35pm
If they advertise like "Buying all 50% off...", they are not trading with their own price, they are admitting that they use a pricing system like bp.tf or spreadsheet. Although this does not make it alright to go raging at them for trying to make a profit in which we all want to, and should just ignore them if you are not quickselling your item(s).
