Mod on vacation - appeal bans
heyo. i got a ban 5 days ago on tf2outpost for having a private profile. i turned my backpack public again and made an appeal. It seems that my appeal (among others) have been assigned to "Banned #Vacation" . He has not been online for 28 days, and thus i don't think he is able to do his job as a mod right now .
My ticket is 5 days old, no response and i'm unable to close it and have it reassinged.A lot of banned users are in my situation aswell, what can we do ?

Regarding all the posts on this forum about bans and tickets i think this doesnt really matters, expect to wait multiple months, doesnt matter much who is assigned to your ticket.

i think it should matter and it's a serious problem if the head admins let this happen.

i will wait for an admin to respond tho'

No that is not true you don't have to wait for months on all tickets. It depends on what the issue is and how easy it is for them to actually handle a ticket. Everyone seems to think this is the only thing they have to do is sit around and answer tickets 24/7 they do have lives outside of here. Yes so may go over but they are trying to hire staff if you looked Sneeze made a post stating that they were looking for people to join the staff if you look at announcements made https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/groups/tf2outpost#announcements. They are doing all they can but you just can't take on anyone that applies you truly have to know that there are here to help the community and not just here for the gain, fame, etc. Give them a chance, I will not assume anything about that admin that has been on vacation however they may have had an emergency. I believe tickets are random who they go to per every ticket submitted, so if that admin is unable to handle the situation I'm sure they will find someone or transfer the ticket. However this is not the place to post about ban appeals. Hope this helps, have a good one!

I know they don't spend their all free time on tf2op and nor do i want to. i was just pointing out that he hasn't been online for nearly a month and i'm unsure he still does mod tasks on outpost.

your last part regarding tickets it's completely true, but you would think that if he hasn't come online for 1 month , why would he still be active? 1 month is a long time and i among others would want to get atlest a response of what's happening with this guy .

also, i'm not sure where should i post about this, but this is merely an appeal. i made this discussion to point out that the mod seems to be inactive and a handfull of banned ussers have tickets reasigned to him., unable to tell when he is coming back.

I'm sure that someone will get with you as soon as possible and if that Admin is on vacation or away I'm sure the ticket will be reassigned. Thanks for being understanding though most other users are not!

I see that you've set your profile back to public. I've went ahead and unbanned you from the site.

Good luck with your trading.

Just for future reference what should a user do if they have a ticket assigned to an away mod?

It's not something that I can give a definitive answer to, as all situations are different. As a moderator, I'm not in a position to make judgements on appeals and that is very much handled almost fully by admins. I could reverse the ban here simply because there wasn't anything to judge, the profile was made public again.

I apologize if that isn't the answer you wanted, but it just isn't something you can give a one size fits all solution.

Fair enough, cheers for the answer
