Recent Trades Being Closed
I'm having certain isues over a trade ruling that I feel needs to be clarified. I've recently had my Dead Island Epidemic trade closed. It was reported by a rather, for the sake of better words, vindictive user claiming I was selling a free game and therefore I was trying to scam people. As far as I knew at the time, I have paid for Dead Island and received this Epidemic content with the game during the last Blessed Summer Sale as I'm sure many other users with similar posts like mine have done. My trade, with many others, have been closed on the assumption that Dead Island Epidemic is a widely available game for free by an admin as you can see on my trade here[www.tf2outpost.com].

Apparantly this user[www.tf2outpost.com] has admitted and shamelessly boasted about reporting many trades like mine and having them succesfully closed. He has even come to the point of stalking my profiles on other websites and spammed accusations of being a scammer after blocking him on Outpost preventing him from commenting any further even after politely asking him to stop. I don't know if there's been a spike of trades involving this game being closed, but from what he's admitted on my post it seems like he may have a lot to do with them. I just want to make clear what kind of person this user is. Who has hurt you so much?!

Anyways, under the assumption that this particular game is widely available for free, I went out my way to prove it for myself. I went and searched on the store page and found an early beta access update news. It leads me to a signup here[www.deadislandepidemic.com]. I've signed up for it, with the confirmation email telling me that in order to be considered for beta participation I need to confirm my email through a link they give you.

As you can see with most of the sources aforementioned, nowhere in any of these links does it say this game is in any way guaranteed free. All that is said from any information concerning signing up for the beta access is that you have a CHANCE of participating. You MAY be CONSIDERED. This is the point I want to make clear, this in no way guarantees a free game. I have no idea if these are being thrown at people left or right because I still haven't gotten my beta access as of yet after singing up. But as far as I know, this whole mess feels like people who actually paid money for a game and are selling the free items they got with it are being targeted by a few angry peanuts. If things like theses are being banned for being sold, why should we stop at trading cards, genuines, the robot chicken hat, etc.

I'm no admin, but it seems like maybe instances that involve "free" items may need to be looked into for a more refined view of how and when they can be sold. The way I look at it, scrap metal is completely free on a weekly basis, but I don't see any people getting their trades closed for selling it.

If you want this user to stop reporting what you think are incorrect trades, block them from your OP profile. This stops them from seeing your trades and commenting on your trades.

You say that "All that is said from any information concerning signing up for the beta access is that you have a CHANCE of participating. You MAY be CONSIDERED. This is the point I want to make clear, this in no way guarantees a free game." This is where you lose me, because you have ordered this game for free, no? Just because there's a chance that you might not get the game, shouldn't mean that the game is worth something, because it's still something that you got for free.

Like yourself, I'm no admin and I might be completely wrong here but this closed trade seems justifiable in my eyes, anyone can get this game for free.

I did block them. But what was done is done and that doesn't stop them from stalking me on other websites. They even followed me to other sites like backpack.tf and kept posting that I was a scammer even after the admins closed the trades. To make it clear, this mod was not free for me as it wasn't for many during and after the Summer Sale. I bought the actual Dead Island game, and I got 4 copies of this mod with it. No one would have gotten these if it were not for them buying Dead Island before the beta signup. The issue here is I was accused of selling a free game, which is false. This game was not free before beta signup and it is not guaranteed free now.

Like I said before, this game is guaranteed free, its just not guaranteed that you will get it. People can use different emails to get access to the game, increasing the chance of them getting it. You say you bought the dead island game, and you got 4 copies of the mod for free. If your trade was closed for selling dead island because its a free game that would be understandable. But you are selling a mod for a game that you got 4 copies of for free (with purchase of another game that was on sale). Which anyone can get through the early beta access.

Anyone can get into beta, I can agree with that, but not everyone will get in. See the difference? If the access isn't open for everyone as people make it sound like, how can it be constituted as a widely available AND free game? People also get trading cards for "free" with their games. Should we stop those trades as well? What about genuines, those come "free" with purchase as well. Point is, it isn't free if it has to come with a purchase. IDK it's just something to think about when something more complicated like this comes up in the future. I already sold 2 for games I wanted to give my friends to play so it won't matter to me what happens either way. I'm thinking of other users who have bought the game like I did so this last one will just be given away. I still haven't gotten my beta access I signed up for as of yet either...

Dead Island Epidemic is a Free 2 Play game. It's currently in Early Access which means it's not available to the public just yet. However you can get into the beta using a Dead Island Epidemic gift. There have been countless of beta key giveaways, each of which granted the user 6 gift copies of the game, Dead Island owners have also been flooded with free copies, you can also sign up for it as you said. The market is oversaturated with them and they're basically worthless. Asking anything above a key for them can be considered unrealistic (borderline sharking) hence why your trade was closed.

Now if someone is harrassing you on the site you can report them and they'll be dealt with.

Blocking them is enough for me. I've already dealt with them on the other sites as well. I can see how they've been oversaturating the market now, though I'm not clear if that were the case at the time of my purchase. I have sold them pretty easily then, and that wasn't too long ago...
