This might be worth putting in the faq
For new steam accounts, to make the profile public, users must click the My Profile button in this image http://outpost.gg/bsod/z42x41.png and go through the "set up your profile for the first time" process. Because of this, I was issued a ban for not making my profile public as I did not know I had to do it.

New TF2Outpost users have a set of tasks to complete, setting their profile to public is one of them.

I know. But you're leaving out one of the steps within setting your profile to public for new steam users.
