The Pricing discussion is not something I'd like to discuss here. It's been explained a number of times, and even though I don't particularly support the fact that you can't pay with items - I do understand why they moved out of it - Their justification is fine. Premium is an optional feature as well - The site provides great features for both premium and non-paying users.
Auto Bumped trades are a good thing for premium members, however - like any system, there are unintended consequences.
This does have some unfortunate side effects like the traders who leave trades open for years without updating prices or even actually trying to sell the items in the trade. I as a premium member actually try to find trades of non-premium members when I am buying something since they are usually easier to catch online. Even still I think doing away with Auto Bump would hurt the site overall due to a loss of "income" needed to pay for keeping the site up.
A solution might be to make it so that someone has to log into the site every X days (where X is whatever number of days site staff determine appropriate) or the trades stop auto bumping.
I had stated something similar in my first post - It would be better to implement such an option; along with a status indicator that tells you whether a user is online or not. That, along with making better use of Trade Offers will greatly help things.
The issue I have is not with Auto bumps as such - It is with it's use - the extended periods of it being used when users haven't been acive for over 4 days or so.
A simple solution would be auto bump only lasts a week or a few days.
That's 1 neat method of going about it; Additional suggestions I could think of - An option for Premium users - of having Autobumped trades only when they are online; A status indicator that is lit when you are online and not when you are offline; Making Trade Offers Mandatory for Premium users.
Thanks for the Feedback - Looking for more potential suggestions for this unintended consequence of Non-Stop Auto-Bumps.
