Is outpost slowly fading away...
Recently I have been getting less and less trades and as of now no trade request on outpost. Also i have notice views have decreased on outpost. On items such as 1.33refs hats I would normaly get instant 10 views now its just 2 to 5 views. So im asking who still trades on this site lol it seems like its slowly falling into a well its been fun website.

Don't feel sad from what i'm saying, but your trades aren't too interesting, you basically are selling stuff that most people really don't care, anyway, trades involving keys, buds, unusuals always got good views and offers if you do a regular bump.

Ya, outpost seems to be for higher end trades now normal hats and items are not really as popular anymore.

As much as I still actively visit Outpost and update my ads and regularly participate in the forum, and really support all that Outpost does ............I have to agree with you :) The competition has really upped their game recently - My case is that Item donation has made trading there much, much easier.

Premium members is one reason I use Outpost less - I see a lot of trades that are 1 year old, users who haven't been online for months, with unrealistically good deals - Worse than spam to me :)

As you stated - perhaps it's because I deal with items around a Key or less - much easier to sell those on another site in my experience.

In regards to your title - Not sure whether it's anything that Outpost is particularly doing wrong - The competition has really stepped up :) Sometimes it's better to give credit to where credit is due :) Backpack has a much more stronger and loyal community due to the way the site and the forum operates- it is designed around users - not criticizing or wishing Outpost was different - just how things are. Each approach has it's own positives and negatives.

Outpost is still so much more enjoyable as users can vary their content quite a lot and a large number (the majority?) of traders and trades still happen thanks to Outpost - Just look at all the suggestions on Backpack.Tf :) Outpost is not going anywhere - The site and it's staff work hard, and continually innovates - they are on top because of hard work and dedication - attributes that other top sites also possess :)

You can see some stats here: http://www.tf2outpost.com/about

Outpost is nowhere near fading away, like others have suggested it's probably due to the type of items you're trading. The rise of automated trading sites made it a lot easier to sell/buy items like craft hats at the click of a button. Why search for users and wait for them to add you when you can buy as many hats as you need at the click of a button? That and the fact that more and more users are willing to part with their hats for less than 1.33 Ref which makes selling at the "regular" price harder.

Thanks for your input guys. For the most part there is still active users posting trades. But how many of them are actually getting trade request thats another story. You may have active users posting trades but not that many are getting requested. I have had different exerpiences on other sites some are better then others i guess my time with outpost is coming to an end. So far the past month I have not got hardly any trades. This can be a number of reasons as you suggested. But the site is still one of the best looking trading websites out there compaired to a few that we all know.

Personally, I think it is due to the steady increase in user base on the site creating a broader variety of trades and traders. I do not think people spend as much time on Outpost to purchase lower valued items such as craft hats, weapons, crates, etc.. It seems like a waste of time, adding users, waiting for them and so on when you can quickly hop on a trade server or two and find some of the items you are searching for. Plus, most lower valued items are more common, leading to more trades from users regarding the same item hence why trades to get as many views; there are many other trades to view.

Over the coarse of the sites existence I think it has grown into more of an unusual tier trading system. If you are looking for a specific unusual, most of the time you will not find them on a server easy hence why Outpost has been so effective thus far in trading. It is all about the convenience of searching and finding rather then hopping from server to server; seeking.

In short: I do not think Outpost in general is dying one bit but perhaps certain aspects of the trading.

I would also point out that automated trading is also becoming a much more commonplace thing in the trading community. Many people can quickly go and sell off just about anything that is seen as a commodity item in TF2 trading to any one of the various sites that are dedicated to it, or even to traders that have set up their own bot.
