I got sharked, and they say it's all my fault.
I was sharked by Scootis McPootis, He traded for a searing slow poke which is like 6 buds, less idk. I have proof, I already reported him like 5 times and the other user he sold it to. I gave a lot of proof on my report to Zemnmez, no one has responded back to me though. http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/18780287 is the trade he argued with me. The new user who has it also insulted me, when I said I didn't want him selling it because it was sharked. He seemed like he got manipulated by Scootis, and he must of felt like I was a threat, when I just wanted me hat back and to do the actual trade that I was gonna do with my Orbiting fire armored. They both acted like I was the bad person when he goes and sells it and was the one who pretty much stole it from me.

The only thing that makes a shark better than a phisher is the fact they do it in your face instead of hiding behind thier fake profiles. I feel bad for ya my freind. I was sharked when I started out long ago. They still and always will leave a bad impression on me. That's why I hate overpay.

Yeah, I am reporting him on steam rep right now, I hope I get it back.

You are never going to get it back, there is a reason steam has not only 1 but 2 confirmations when you are making a trade.
Maxwell Payne 25 Mar, 2014 @ 4:36pm
What? 2 confirmations? What the fuck does that have to do with not know what hat you put in? You aren't part of this so leave.

Technically no one but Scootis and yourself are part of this. Also, I'm not on anyone's side as I don't quite understand what happenned but unless someone actually buys it and returns it to you, you won't get it back. Sharked hats won't go anywhere, it's only when it was a certain kind of scam you get it back from Steam as a dupe. Everyone else who bought the hat has traded for it legitimately, so they don't have to give it back. Sorry to burst your bubble.
Scootis McPootis 25 Mar, 2014 @ 8:25pm
and I didn't once manipulate him lol. jeez man, you just accidentally traded the wrong hat to me. that's on you, not me. simple as that, you made a mistake
Scootis McPootis 25 Mar, 2014 @ 8:26pm
tell the whole story next time
quarelin 26 Mar, 2014 @ 1:21am
And you don't want to give it back because you're that nice, right?
"you just accidentally traded the wrong hat to me. that's on you, not me. simple as that, you made a mistake"

Then do the right thing instead of walking away. your no worse off and he has his hat back, do I smell a greed factor here? Pathetic.........
Aitchy 26 Mar, 2014 @ 6:04am
Give him the hat back and stick to original deal, if it was you that made that mistake you would also want it back, its an easy mistake to make sometimes and has happened to me before on both sides of the example which got sorted straight afterwards.

One guy even pasted a $50 steam wallet code in a chat to me by mistake, would be kind of low to then go and redeem it.

If you end up with a ban or a tag, your not going to get that reversed anytime soon if at all. And thats just going to mess up your future trading plans big time Technically it was not your fault, but morally your no better than a scammer.

If I was you i would be giving it back rather than waiting to see what happens with your "I done nothing wrong" excuse.

You have 3 things here to think about

Steamrep
Outpost
Steam Support

If a trade was agreed and then he changed his mind and wanted to re trade back, then that's a different story.

Wouldn't sr be the most headache for Scootis rather than Steam Support? Steam won't care, he had 2 "are you sure" warnings. Steam Support won't even dupe it back. But now that Scootis actually said that he took the items when it wasn't intended for the trade, I'm fairly the white knights of SR will eventually mark him if he doesn't get the hat back. And yeah, I don't like SR but that was a pretty low move, keeping the hat and selling it :L

It wasn't a shark though, it was a mistake on your end Payne. A mistake that was taken advantage of from someone, and yeah he I'm fairly certain he might get in deep trouble for, but still it's not a shark. Change your name please. :o
I beg to differ. Granted it was not a shark because it was not advertised as such, But in the mind of Pootis he knows it's a shark. He knows he was getting a great bit of profit off the hat. A sharks a shark period This is a classic example that I run to daily where complete noobs pay too much not knowing the value of what they are trading or paying. In this case Pootis knew and admits to such. This sir is a shark in the worst form and fashion. This is where decency steps in and says hey man you have placed the wrong item in the trade and or hey man you are paying too much. Instead the trader in questiion decides its better to walk and say to himself oh well his tuff luck and my gain. The definition of sharking, period....IMO
This really isn't the place to argue about this and starting a useless flame war about who is at fault doesn't help either. We can't do anything for you in this case as it is not in the general publics hands. You reported him. The conversation can be done.
