Latest ad provider is suspicious as foop.
I tend to use the steam overlay browser for ease of use with the tf2op site as it allows for easy login, doing trades and such without needing to alt tab, lately however I have noticed the adverts served by whoever provides the ads on the tf2op site have been getting rather dangerous, luckily valve has removed most applets that can damage your computer, such as java within steam's own browser, and I'm no idiot when it comes to computer security anyway.

However it's been getting worse with regards to redirection adverts that just force you onto a fake adobe, or oracle page asking you to "update your flash/java as it's "out of date" and the site "needs" it to run and trying to get you to download virus exes and the like, which luckily you can't do inside the steam browser overlay.

I thought it'd definitely be worth reporting this, as whoever is providing the site adverts is shady as ♥♥♥♥ and it's been getting worse.

No, it's just the 3 defined adverts, 2 to the right side, and 1 at the bottom, occasionally one of them loads that redirect script to force your browser into a fake flash/java update page (not a popup, just a pure browser page change, to get you to download alsorts of random viral stuff, which luckily can't be done at all in the steam overlay.

The fake pages themselves show the url as something like "depotobiy" and other random obvious phishing/viral urls.

Unfortunately no, what would be the advert spot to see who's providing it is instead just a plain black box with no hover url visible, the only visible url is as I've said above, it just redirects to a random obvious phishing/spam url if you manage to get one of the redirect adverts.

Hmm that is strange. I only assumed it's remarkit because they have malware programs that put their advertisements on specific websites.

Nah, remarkit tends to be more of your own computer being infected and then it forces your browser open and asks you to install other stuff, my computer is a-ok, on that front, no viruses, malware, adware etc. This is one being pushed via whoever provides tf2outpost's adverts.

We're transitioning to another new ad provider soon apparently because of the issues we've been getting with the current one. I don't have an ETA but I'm pretty sure within 2 weeks.

As soon as my premium ran out I got adware/spyware from the adverts on TF2outpost.com from inside the steam browser. Its like they are trying to force us to buy premium for way to much money. Yes I have the ads blocked from foxfire so Im safe there, but not for in game browsing.

I really hope this 'new' Ad provider company is SAFE and doesnt put adware/spyware on the ads again.

Good to know, I did previously have the 6 month premium from my leftover donator when it swapped from donating to premium, but sadly it ended in march. So when I started getting ads again I noticed it wasn't exactly normal ads being served sadly.

This is actually the third time we're switching providers because they haven't been able to give us clean ads. It's a stupid problem that shouldn't be happening but I guess they have no review process to ensure ads aren't malicious.
