Phishing scandal
Hi :).

Everytime i bumb my trades, i get a new friends request.
Don't get me wrong i like to be friends with everybody, but these friends request comes from our beloved phishing sites.

Are you working on making any changes, so that these bots can exploit the system?

Thanks in advance & have a nice day :).

There isn't much we can do. They create a lot of accounts on the site and there is no guaranteed way to flag them when they do. We do our best but unless Steam does something to prevent multiple account creation and/or spamming friend request invites, this will keep happening.

Is the friend limit they put into place alittle while ago still taking effect? If so, then you shouldn't really be getting these ads from phishers very often.

Should be implement Level 1 steam account can send 10 friends request/hour level 2 20 friend request/hours, and go on. Lvl 10 100 friend request, lvl 20 200 friend request, problem solved. Valve dont care about pishers, or stupid.
If what you are saying is correct, then that doesn't really solve to much in most instances. I always thought it was a limit of 5 invites per hour for everyone no matter the rank or merit.

The problem is, hi-jackers usually targets the accounts with high Steam Levels, why? Because they are the ones that make it more convincing and usually have the expensive backpacks. Most people just glance at the profile and if it has a high level, lots of games, expensive bp, etc then they will feel more comfortable and trusting when dealing with those users

Then again, those with higher leveled accounts are usually more experienced users so it probably would not happen very often. But if it were too happen, they will still be able to spam invites.

Valve needs to sit down for alittle while and fix the root of the problem rather than just half-doing everything.
