I got ban on Outpost !
Hi Guys ! Recently , I had unknownly traded to a scammer's alt , I got a 2 week ban by toughsox . I did not realise he was a scammer alt until tough approach me . the scammer's alt is http://steamrep.com/profiles/76561198139089904 ( steam rep ) .

He sold me a smoking raincatcher http://backpack.tf/item/2316256779 .he sold me for a really cheap price , I breifly looked at his steam rep which was a clean hat and took he trade . It was fairly cheap .

As I wonder , if I had not taken this trade , someone else surely would. Who cares trading with a scammer if they sells you an unusual for a key ? Will you even look at his rep , or check if he's a scammer ? No matter duped and gifted unusual are sellable if you buy it at the right price .

Secondly , this is my first ban after trading TF2 for so long . I have a pretty decent amount of trades to deal with everyday .Why is my ban so long ? 2 Week ? Without any warning whatsoever ? And the next time is permanent ban . Why is my mistake so serious as if I commited a serious offense . I did not scam . I did not cheat . I am an honest trader . Fairly speaking , it seems to me that I was the scammer .

Lastly , I clearly do not understand why a " dirty " cheap unusual who even get a ban . Can't I not afford a 10 key unusual ? It wouldn't be even worth he risk and the time ! A few keys for a 2 week ban? If you were in my shoes, how would you think of it ? Why would I be after the tiny " profit ?

I seek for forgiveness from trading with a scammer . I hope i can get my point across and hope to lessen the duration of my ban . Thank you .

No ban appeals on the forums. You should have checked the users SR profile before trading with them. Nothing you say here will make your ban sentence shorter, wait it out and try not to trade with anyone who is giving you a suspiciously cheap deal.

Also please no calling out any users here. Its against forum rules.

If you hadn't taken it, someone else would have been banned in your place. Think about that next time you trade with a scammer alt. It's easy to spot obvious scammer alts, they usually have an empty account, a few games at most, nearly no comments, not much playtime yet they're in the possession of these highly expensive items that they shouldn't be owning. It doesn't matter if they're not marked on Steamrep, this is a huge warning sign. Another warning sign is that nobody would sell an unusual for that cheap, the temptation might be huge to accept such a deal but remember if you buy the unusual they'll only go and scam more since this is easy profit for them.

The 2 week ban serves as a warning, and it's pretty short considering it could have been easily permanent. You did not scam directly, however you aided a scammer by trading for that hat which makes you no better than them.

The ban won't be lifted, consider this as your only friendly warning. You might wanna be more careful when accepting "good deals" in the future. If a deal is too good to be true most of the time it is.
