A lot of people dont accept random adds from users with private profiles. Its because of the phser bots that add users and message them with psh links. If you do want to give offers on items id suggest leaving a comment on the users trade saying youre adding them / what you are offering.

On a side note users with private profiles will be banned on the site, giving people even more reason to block you.

I did that. I put "added" message under his trade before adding him. It's not first that happened though. I don't really want to have my profile for everyone to see because I had people add my friends to their list and harass them/spam phish links.

Also isn't that a bit silly to ban someone for that? I would think that this option is there to be used. But it seems like it's not worth it.

Also, I just checked my settings and apparently I only limited comment permissions so far. Makes me wonder why people block me.

Im sry but it someone adds me with a private bp gets a block from me . I dont think theres any real reason y someone would want a private bp unless they wat to hide something .

Bots don't need his friend list to do that.

And why should a bot care about his tiny friendlist of not even 30 people without even knowing if anyone of these does care about tf2 or trading if it can instead scrub thousands of profiles that do care about tf2 and trading from a central location?

And really, 99.999999% of the accounts with private profile who add me are fishermen so i just block them on sight.

That's fine, but why do people view me as a phisher simply for having my comments "for friends only"? That's literally all I have on right now, but it still seems like I get blocked. *Confused*

Some users just block when they get random adds, phser or not. Just leave comments on their trades on what you are offering.

to be honest this thread should be made else where, It's already against outpost rules to have a private bp
