My concerns about current regulation of "outbound links"
My concerns about current regulation of "outbound links"

Hello! I do understand that rules is written and need to obey.
Let's talk about me. I've contributed to major communities, like, Outpost, Bazaar, Dispenser, Backpack, Scrap banking sites.

About communities talking here:
►backpack works mostly as outlet (high exposure)
►outpost is main site of trade listings (mostly) with high exposure
►dispenser works as games selling and base currency selling platform, quite low exposure (automated bot)
►bazaar mainly works as automated trading service with low exposure

As far as I see, these sites offer quite different experience to call them as competitors, Bazaar lacks of exposure, there is tons of "year old" threads and is pretty much "out of the game" to call it as a competitor.

For me (user who contributes by buying premium) question might come
"Is using outbound links as long as they're enriching general user experience is a bad thing?"
Automation only helps to avoid hassle of miscounting items and overcome time differences.

I see that each of these communities play's different role in general market.
So how come we avoid to move towards higher general satisfaction?

Outpost is part of ZAM. No competing communities/services may be advertised. Exposure numbers are irrelevant.

Backpack/item links from bp.tf are allowed, but classifieds are not. Classifieds is a trade offer/wishlist system, exactly what Outpost is about.

Bazaar offers pretty much the same services with the addition of auctions and bots. It was born as a competitor and still is a competitor, and competitors don't forward traffic to each other.

Dispenser was designed to offer storage bots, however they also implemented some kind of visual offer/wishlist system. They are still allowed, but will no longer be in our next update.

Trading post links are not allowed. Steam trades links are not allowed. Any other sites that do the same thing we do are not allowed.

This will not change.

I hope there will be some means of automation available in near future. It would greatly improve user experience and general trading safety. It would lessen need of third party solutions and would be a great boost as a premium perk, for example.

I guess, as a legal body, there is limited opportunities for fast changes. I guess future updates will include some automated solutions.

Regards
