Impolite behaviour
Hello,

I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I've tried many other means and none of them have been effective so I really have no choice, I'll try to keep this as brief as possible without sacrificing any important information.

I would like to start with some background of the problem at hand, a very long time ago I traded for a couple of hats, the user who sold them to me claimed it was a quicksale and he needed the pure buds, I took it and posted it on outpost, a few hours later a user in outpost made me aware that I just traded with a scammer, I didn't knew this before making the trade and I couldn't tell that he was a scammer since most scammers don't tell you they are scammers. in fear of being banned I closed the post and submitted a support ticket explaining the situation right away (you can see that happening here: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/24185007). Weeks passed and Helen never replied to my ticket, I never got an answer from any members of the Outpost support team until 16 of january, by that time I had traded the two hats, when I saw Toughsox added me I thought I could get some closure and an explanation to the slow and inefficient response of the Outpost support, instead I was banned for 2 weeks for knowingly trading with a scammer, which was not the case, frankly. What happened to my own ticket? Toughsox said that he saw that I submitted a ticket and that was all he told me about that.

I submitted an appeal to my ban which landed on Garry, so I waited. I was very surprised when I realized my appeal was not being responded. I checked Garry's profile, seemed pretty active and willing to respond to comments so I left a comment asking kindly if he could check my appeal since the ban was about to expire, I waited a couple of days, checked his profile just to see that he deleted my comment.

My ban is really close to expire now, it's been a week and a half and I don't think I'll get anything from the Outpost support now, that's the main reason why I'm writing this, I know mods and admins must be really busy people, but taking 2 weeks to respond, not considering the situation I was in, the ticket I submitted to Helen and just slap a ban on me at the beginning of the year and doing nothing to hear what I have to say in my defense it's just absolutely outrageous for such a great site like Outpost. Now, I understand the ban is justified, I'm not arguing that nor I am appealing to my ban, I'm just stating that there's a serious issue when the support team takes more than a quarter of a month to get to an user that's asking for help.

Thanks for reading, I don't mean to offend nobody, I just would like to see some resolution to this issue.

As I said, I acknowledge that, the thing is my support ticket did went unnoticed, besides, my aim is to share my experience hoping it helps to improve the site, not to get my appeal responded necessarily, although that would be really nice too.

If you are going to tell your tale of woe, try to be accurate instead of sounding like a martyr. You didnt wait weeks for Helen to respond to your report. You closed it less than 4 days before you decided to close it yourself. Sorry that during the few days leading up to Christmas that she did not take time away from preparing for the holidays with her family to rush right out and handle your precious report. A report, mind you, was you being scared because you DID in fact trade with scammer/scammer alt accounts.

Also, you were NOT banned for KNOWINGLY trading with scammer/scammer alts, your ban states "Knowing whom you trade with is your responsibility at all times."

As I said, if you are coming to complain, at least get your story straight.

Pardon me for not being precise with the dates, this happened a long time ago and when you're banned it's impossible to check the dates. Yes, I closed the ticket myself since I didn't had the hats anymore so it was kinda pointless leaving it open. I can understand that she was taking time off to celebrate the holidays, I'm not made of stone but we are almost in the middle of january and Garry has not responded my appeal neither and holidays are over by far now. I'm not complaining about the first ticket I submitted, nor I'm saying I didn't trade with a scammer, I'm complaining because my ban states that I was banned with an "obvious" scammer, which implies I knew that the scammer was a scammer before trading with him, which is not true, that's why I posted this.

I can't help to notice that you're taking taking this a little bit too personal, I don't intend to lie or misrepresent, I just want to get this figured out and move on, let's not get too heated about it.

I get heated, as you say, when people come and mis-quote the facts so that they look better in other peoples eyes. But...lets review what we have seen so far.

I was being generic with my ban reason as you did not trade with an obvious scammer/scammer alt as it stated. The FACT is, it was a MARKED SCAMMER, which we discussed.

The fact that we have a "SR+" next to everyone's name is so you can check. Quite simply , you didn't. Thus, had you bothered to look, it would have been OBVIOUS.

The FACT that you admitted you didn't check as you were just looking "gain some quick profit like I always do"....these are your words, not mine.

Also, if you recall, I was very specific what an appeal was. 1. you make an appeal if you think the Moderators judgement was wrong. In this case, it clearly is not.

Or 2, to hope that the Appeals Admin will lower your sentence.
For whatever reason Garry did or did not reply to what you wrote on his profile is no indication on how busy he is, or whether or not he did or did not look at your comment or your appeal.

We get literally hundreds of reports per day, and we all volunteer to do this in our free time to help the trading community to be a safer place.

As far as me being heated, trust me, you haven't even begun to see me get heated. But I will be damned if I'm going to listen to some whiney comments bashing Outpost, their Admins, Mod or the rest of the support staff. Being a member here is a privileged, NOT A RIGHT.

We have rules, and they are simple and easy to follow. You claiming you were tired, or you forgot is not an excuse that absolves you of these rules. Next time, follow them and you won't have to worry about being banned ever again.

Yes, most of the things you "reviewed" have already been covered by you or me, just a detail, you're misrepresenting when I said I was just looking for profit, I did said that, but the way you're phrasing it you're making it seem that I did it intentionally, and that's the point, I didn't. Secondly, let me ask you something, do you really think taking more than a week and a half to respond to an appeal is acceptable?

I will not reply to you anymore, Toughsox, as you said to me, appeals are not your responsibility and I don't see anything positive in ending up in bad terms with someone like yourself.

1. You closed your support ticket after 3 days, and you did it during the christmas week. Had you waited a bit longer you would have had a response. From the FAQ: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/groups/tf2outpost/discussions/0/558747922562007365/#c622954302094710836

2. Answering your support ticket, no, there is not anything you can do. Main Rule #8:

No trading with scammer alts. We do not encourage our users trading with scammers, and you should be careful to not trade with obvious alternate accounts of scammers. Please check the user's Steam profile and SteamRep status before trading with them.

By using our site you automatically agree to our rules, and we do not let things go simply because you told us about it.

3. Being online on Steam does not mean available to do voluntary work. We have real lives, and many of us keep the computer on all day long. Some of us even work while Steam is offline. If you base ticket response time on staff's online time then you will always be off.
