Can I still be banned if I don't use the site anymore?
If I don't have any open trades and I no longer use outpost, can I still be banned for having a private profile? I've always assumed that private profiles are okay if you're not actually using the site, but I would like to know for sure.

Example: User A decides they're not going to trade any more. User A closes all their trades on outpost, stops browsing the site, and sets their profile to private. 6 months later, user A decides to use outpost again, at which point user A sets their profile back to public and keeps it public for the duration that they are actively using the site. Am I correct in assuming that there is nothing wrong with what user A has done? Or could user A still be subject to getting a ban for having a private profile during the 6 month time period even though he/she is not using the site?

Can you please clarify? I have absolutely no idea what you mean.

I don't agree with that and I think it's stupid, but it's your site therefore your rules, no matter how dumb I think it may be. For example if I'd never used your site and went private, nobody would care and I wouldn't be banned, but simply because I have used your site, I no longer have the option to go private without risking a ban even if I am no longer using it, and a ban on outpost carries some weight in many communities. I think it's unfair and unreasonable.

For future reference, because I will in all likelihood be linking this thread to curious people: I currently have a level 50 steam profile, over 500 games on steam, over 9k trades, and a clean backpack. I do not shark, scam, phish, or anything of the sort.

I intend to at some point in the near future set my profile to private, at which point I will most likely receive a ban from outpost. I wholeheartedly disagree with the practice of banning inactive users with no open trades simply for not having a public profile, but there's nothing I can do.

You may think whatever you want, you agreed to the rules when you signed up on the site, hence any complaints or rants will be fruitless. Next time, read the rules before joining a site.
