This is a 17+ game, you can swear, it's okay.
easy to spot them because they are lv0-1 without inventory, so you just report and block them.
People who either have no money or don't want to spend any set up these phishing bots. They look for anything of even remotely high value and add the person. Most of the time, since they're bots, they are rather easy to spot and block, etc.
However, these phishers wouldn't do what they do if it never worked.
There are dozens of people being phished everyday out of the thousands who were tried each day. I've accumulated about 250 Phishers over the last 3 months spent trading, and another roughly 100 people who were human, but phishers, nonetheless.
Sadly, phishers are a cancer to the tf2 trading society, and one that can't be easily cured.
To be quite honest, the only way this could've been avoided is if we got rid of expensive or even just plain items alltogether, and resort to a communism-like structure, and the problem with that is COMMUNISM SUCKS.
So, there's not much you can do about scammers other than block and report them.

Good luck and happy trading.
