ikr, im just trying to look at my backpack and apparently "the steam API returned invalid", what does that even mean!

I've been wondering how people are posting new trades, too. The steam API has been "invalid" constantly since the update.

Can you give details about what you're seeing?

Is it just for some types of items, such as just Tf2 or Dota 2 items, is there any possible reasons for this to be happening that you can see, etc.

We need details or there is very little we can do, if anything as it may not even be on our end just like the API for CS:GO messing up just recently.

Edit: I've attempted this on my own and only my TF2 inventory was not available. Not sure if this is the case for everyone.

The things that make me mad is that someone can post new trade and I can't since the update :|

yea since new tf2 update i can crate a new trade :(

it just fixed itself for me. I relogged in and out before and it didnt help. Checked dota2, steam, csgo inventories, then switched back to tf2 and it showed up.

Icould see the site fine before, I just couldnt list new items. Kept getting steam api getting invalid results error message.
Steam servers were overloaded because of the update.

Well it works now :)
I hope no one else has this problem anymore

It's not a fault on our end - there is a fixed timeout on external requests to the Steam API. If it takes longer than 6 seconds, then we cut the request and return an error. Any longer than this and the webservers start to get blocked by a backlog of requests waiting to get returned, which causes total site slowdowns.

This Christmas event is really hammering the servers and we're having some difficulties we're trying to solve.
