Traders can reopen trades..but how will pricing sites know what sold?
If a lot more traders open close trades, it becomes harder to know if they sold their original items now. Especially if they have two of the same item and only plan on selling their extras.

I'd hate to see bp.tf say an item is not selling for a price, but it actually did sell.
I'm expecting to see a lot more month old trades now, where traders reopen and sell the same item every once in a while.

Well, pricing sites will have to adjust their policies. It is not our concern how they operate their systems.

I don't see how that is relevant, wasn't it like that until now as well? If I had 2 copies of an item and I sold one of them then closed my trade, how can you be so sure that I sold the item or not?

Either way, I don't think much will change. It only makes sense to reopen a trade for items you restock often (like keys, tools, cards etc). People will still close trades when they sell an item.

they'll close it..but what's stopping them from opening it again like 2 weeks later?

What are closed trades used for? They're used as proof for price suggestions. Will a link be relevant in 2 weeks from now? No, as price suggestions are accepted/declined within 24 hours. Either way you need a good number of links as proof for your suggestion to be accepted, so 1 outlier won't change anything.

Closed trade was always lousy type of proof anyway.
