About the event giveaway thingmajigs and the Twitch.TV chat
This is about all the trouble you have because of the spam on the Twitch chat, I just wanted to suggest that you guys get an IRC server chat room setup. The Twitch.TV chat is horrible, there's no true way to control it, however, an IRC chat allows for all kinds of things, from plug-ins to programmable crowd-control bots. I just wanted to suggest this to make the give aways easier on everyone, as getting rid of spammers would be a ton easier (heck, you can even ban singular words from being spoken on the chat, preventing people from posting the keyword 200 times before it's the correct time to do so). Thank you for your time, and I hope you all have great TF2'ing days.

They are doing this to some extent. Zemmbot i think is the name of the bot they use. It scans for key words and will kick you if they are said. Like if you advertise your outpost post in the chat it will kick you i believe. FYI im not 100% sure if this is true or not but it defiantly seems like it
its just a lot more trouble for people to have to be in both irc and on twitch at the same time.

in any case i think the entire enterprise is a little bit questionable, basically the only reason people are watching is to get the unusual, so its wasting a ton of peoples time for not a very good reason, buying views with a raffle. it would be better if the people watching wanted to be there, and weren't "paid" to be there....

Who's to say that those who are there aren't actually there for the stream? Of course you'll have those who only care about the raffle but saying that the majority of users are only there for that is questionable.

Twitch.tv chat uses a horrible butchering of the IRC protocol, but is pretty much like IRC. My bot, zemnbot can enforce controls like your suggestion, but I don't know quite how to implement them, what you see is usually actually lots of different people all talking about similar things, it's not one or two culprits spamming we're talking about here.

I'm completely open to suggestions of how to make the chat better.

The bot currently

- prevents people posting trades from most trading websites
- prevents people posting shock sites
- prevents people posting shortened URLs

- can run votes and raffles
- can tell the time until the next stream
- can give the people currently in the stream
- can give help on the raffling system

It is able to do all the functions a person typing in chat can; putting 'subscribers only' on, timing out users for any amount of time banning users etc.

Fixed that
