What is / is not considered relisting?
Dear TF2 Outpost staff,

I have been wondering for a long time about which trades qualify as relists, and which trades do not.

I have recently had several unusual buying trades closed with the reason 'relist'.
Examples: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9012898 http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9012941

The trades have different purposes (buying specific Demoman and Soldier hats). It is not possible to put 16 hats on the right side of a trade, so I have split the hats up into 2 trades. The trades do not share anything in common aside from the buds and keys on the left hand side, as they are used as 'currency'. The descriptions state "buying (insert class here) hats" and not "buying any hats".

With a quick search, I have found many other similar trades opened by other members.
Example: http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9983519 http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9982868

These trades have not been closed for relisting, which makes me wonder how I can avoid it happening.

Can a staff member please help clarify which trades count as relists, and which ones do not, so that I can avoid this happening again?

Thank you very much! :)

I wouldn't count it as a relist but I can see how a mod who only takes one glance at your trades before making a decision would.

Thanks for the info. What should I do to avoid this happening?

If any TF2 Outpost staff members read this, can you please confirm this and provide me with some more info? Thanks

Those were definitely relists. Consider the fact that you were offering to buy all demoman/soldier hats. You could have simply created one trade offering to buy unusuals for both demos and soldiers, you didn't need to create an individual one for each.

Would it be a relist if I was only buying the hats listed above?

It would not be possible to list say 16 hats for both Demo and Soldier in one trade, in a way that is obvious to other users.

I would also like to point out that the example trades opened by another user (http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9983519 http://www.tf2outpost.com/trade/9982868) are identical to mine, except they remain open. Can an admin please help point out the difference?

I cant help but think its the quickest way for some admins to deal with reports.
I have had trades closed that I would not consider relisting, one trade with multiple unusuals asking for offers, and a second trade with 2 of those items + buds looking for specific scout hats.

If somthing so pedantic is considered against the rules, would it be possible to add a report function for people who don't read the notes?

If everyone actually bothered reading the notes I would have put the information about the scout hats into the first trades notes, but with many people ignoring notes completly it seemed to me to be the most hassle free way of trading for what I actually want.

Are you talking to yourself?

How about you allow a set number of what you consider relists per level of donation?
Just 1000 times nope.

Besides you get a lot more exposure than regular members with the added bonus you don't even have to pay attention to the site to bump your trades.
His Wardship 25 Apr, 2013 @ 12:46pm
Absolutely, and you got the extra trades. You can have one for scrap banking, one for selling the weapons, one for buying a few hats, another for selling the odd misc, some more for crates, another for a strange minigun etc etc.

If you seriously thought donating would let you have 25 scrapbanking trades, you're sorely mistaken. Also, by definition, a donation can not be returned. Try claiming €50 from a charity because you thought another one was doing a better job.

On a similar note, what constitues "exact same trade"? I've tried several times now to list in the left side "1 ref 2 scrap" and in the right side eight specific class hats (which are not anywhere in any of my other open trades), and it won't let me because "you already have that exact same trade open." Am I not allowed to offer 1.22 on multiple trades or what?
His Wardship 26 Apr, 2013 @ 7:38am
In every trade you offer to buy any craft hat for 1.22. The items shown don't matter, you are offering 1.22 for any craft hat 9 times, and that makes it a relist.

Okay, so is it acceptable to say, "Buying these craftable Scout/Demo/Soldier (per each different trade) hats only for 1.22"?

Also, that doesn't really answer my question. The system itself is not allowing me to create a new trade for different hats.
