As for what the community is like, that's a mixed bag and really cannot be defined by a topic on a forum. different traders can vary heavily depending on why they trade (cosmetic or profit) and what they trade (low end or high end) and you'll rarely see one trend encompass everyone.
If you want to know more about the staff, then I'm sure they'd encourage you to watch their weekly streams they have, which include raffles for unusuals and other nice items.
For the rest of the community, my advice would be to find your niche and what you want out of trading and look at similar people with those items in mind.
As for price commenting, it isn't against the rules so much that you'll be banned, but many people in the community (myself included) find it one of the rudest things to do when the trade could just be simply avoided. Many spam battles happen because of them and I find it's better to just not take the chance for drama to occur.
