Ecstatic over this, will solve so many problems.
Theres a ton of good stuff you can point with it, the only downside I can remember is when you can buy keys at Steam Community Market for 1,20 dollars or so why would you buy them at the store for 2.50 dollars, so probably there will be less keys entering the market and just the same keys beyng sold and resold, wich will impact key metal value even more.
Hold your horses, this only affects a tiny portion of scams, since funds are transferred straight into Steam account, people will still use Paypal for cashing out, and impersonation, quick-switches and all those other scams will continue.
It's a nice bonus, but in no way the end of scamming.
Opening up the trade market to those less apt to trading means people will have access to hats when they otherwise wouldn't due to the time investment. Cheaper hats will go into the backpacks of people who just want an unusual to wear rather than to sell off later. Supply will drop and the worst thing in terms of demand are the really ugly hats selling just as bad as they are now.
Also on the key point made earlier, I do see metal value plummeting when compared to keys. People buying from others and very few springing for the game shop is going to lower supply heavily while demand is going to skyrocket from cheaper keys.
