Question: I have never played tf2, nevertheless Can i get tf2 items through trade?

You can't trade fully as an F2P player, you will need to buy any one item from the mann co store to be able to have full trading privileges. Other than that, you don't need to play the game.

EDIT: Also forgot to mention, you will need Steam Guard enabled for 15 days minimum.

Yes you can but you're limited to 50 items (+50 if done in 1 trade). You cannot however trade items you get through game drops with the exceptions of a few tools.
