Report a translation problem
When there is a holiday event like this, a lot of people are getting items they're never going to use, a lot more people trade at these times and it shows up everywhere. Steam trade is more congested, trading sites get more attention etc.
Once the winter crates expire and the festive hype dies down (late Jan, early Feb) everything should return to normal. Assuming of course that Valve doesn't release a shedload of items with a new grordbort pack.
I'm surprised that a small graphical effect could have any noticeable consequence on performance. Then again, I suppose it may on a weaker computer.
